次の表は、各国の国内オリンピック委員会(NOC)が獲得した最初のオリンピック金メダルの一覧である。
アメリカ合衆国のジェームズ・コノリーが、近代オリンピックで最初に金メダルを獲得したとされている[1]。
場合によっては、NOCが最初の金メダルを獲得した大会で複数の金メダルを獲得していることもある。競技のスケジュールが国別の最初のオリンピック金メダリストを判定する要因の1つである。

[編集]- ^ 同じくインドネシア代表のアラン・ブディクスマも同日に男子シングルスで金メダルを獲得しているが、女子シングルスの後に男子シングルスの決勝が行われた。
- ^ 中距離走選手のマリアム・ジャマルは、ドーピング違反により女子1500mの結果に影響が出たため、2017年に遡及的に金メダルが授与された。元々、ラシド・ラムジが2008年のオリンピックの男子1500mで金メダルを獲得したが、翌年に血液増強剤CERAの検査で陽性反応が出たため、金メダルをはく奪された。ジャマルが金メダルに繰り上げされる前の1年間、バーレーンの最初の金メダリストは、2016年のオリンピックの女子3000m障害で優勝したルース・ジェベトであった。
