[編集]- ^ Collective feminine nouns in Romansh: Romansh has numerous masculine nouns that not only have a normal plural in "-s" but a collective form too (a feminine singular noun formed by adding an "a" and possibly doubling the final consonant). No absolutely hard-and-fast rule can be given for the use of the two forms. As a very rough guide, the collective form (miraglia = walls, masonry) is used for an indefinite number, and the plural in "s" (mirs) is used for a number that has been counted with precision.
- ^ Alpine: In Romansh, "alpine" is often used as a synonym for "mountainous".
- ^ Leave, abandon: "Bandunar" looks as if it ought to mean the same as the English "abandon". Its usual meaning, however, is simply "leave".
- ^ Romansh verbs (2): Regular verbs with an infinitive in "-ar": "Laschar" is one of these. To view its full conjugation, click "Details". "Lascher" + a second verb in the infinitive is used in the sense of "to let something be done", "to cause something to be done", "to have something done" (cf. French, Italian, German, etc.). In the spoken language, the first syllable, "la", is often omitted.
