最近の更新

Twinkle というガジェットがウィキペディア英語版で利用されています。メンテナンスと巡回に役立つガジェットです。このたび、他のウィキでも利用できるようになりました。ご利用のウィキに Twinkle を導入するときは、GitHub リポジトリのtwinkle-starter をご利用ください。

問題点

コンテンツ翻訳ツールが一時的に多くの記事で動作しませんでした。バグが原因によるものです。 [1]
5月5日におよそ1分間、特定の操作ができなくなる見込みです。予定時間は06:00 UTC前後です。コンテンツ翻訳ツールや通知機能をはじめとする幾つかの機能が影響を受けます。クラッシュを予防するためのアップグレードを行うためです。 [2]

今週の更新

参考資料プレビューは5月5日より、多くのウィキで既定の機能になる予定です。いくつかの変更があったため、実装が当初の予定より遅れました。この機能はページのプレビュー機能を使わずに利用することも可能です。当初の計画では、個人設定で両方の機能をまとめて有効または無効に切り替える予定でした。 [3][4]
新しいバージョンのMediaWikiソフトウェアが稼働します。テストウィキとMediaWiki.orgは5月4日に、ウィキペディア以外のプロジェクトと一部のウィキペディアは5月5日に、その他のウィキには5月6日に展開されます（工程表はこちら）。

今後の予定

CSS のクラス .error .warning .success は特に定義を行っていなければモバイル版閲覧環境で動作しません。6月以降はデスクトップ版の閲覧環境でも動作しなくなります。これにより、ガジェットやテンプレートに影響が出る可能性があります。クラスに対するスタイルをMediaWiki:Common.css やテンプレートスタイルで定義することは可能です。 [5]

Invitation for Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos 2021

Hello there,

We are inviting you to participate in Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos 2021, a global contest scheduled to run from July through August 2021.

Participants will choose among Wikipedia pages without photo images, then add a suitable file from among the many thousands of photos in the Wikimedia Commons, especially those uploaded from thematic contests (Wiki Loves Africa, Wiki Loves Earth, Wiki Loves Folklore, etc.) over the years.

In its first year (2020), 36 Wikimedia communities in 27 countries joined the campaign. Events relating to the campaign included training organized by at least 18 Wikimedia communities in 14 countries.

The campaign resulted in the addition of media files (photos, audios and videos) to more than 90,000 Wikipedia articles in 272 languages.

Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos (WPWP) offers an ideal task for recruiting and guiding new editors through the steps of adding content to existing pages. Besides individual participation, the WPWP campaign can be used by user groups and chapters to organize editing workshops and edit-a-thons.

The organizing team is looking for a contact person to coordinate WPWP participation at the Wikimedia user group or chapter level (geographically or thematically) or for a language WP. We’d be glad for you to reply to this message, or sign up directly at WPWP Participating Communities.

返信ツールで新しいツールバーが利用できるようにできました。ソースモード編集で動作します。個人設定で有効化することで利用できるようになります。 [6] [7] [8]
ウィキメディアのメーリングリストが新しいバージョンのMailman 3に移行します。文字コードの動作のために、UTF-8から utf8mb3 への変更が行われます。 [9][10]
技術ニュースの以前の号で、citoid APIは日付を指定する際に年と月のみ指定して日を省略した場合、新しい方式で処理が行われるとお知らせしていました。しかし、現在この変更は差し戻されています。様々なwikiへの影響について更なる議論を行う必要があるためです。 [11]

MediaWiki:Pageimages-blacklist は MediaWiki:Pageimages-denylist に改名されます。リストを予め新しい名前に変更することも検討してください。一部のウィキで5月19日に、他の一部のウィキでは5月20日に変更が実施されます。このメッセージは殆どのウィキでは使用されていません。記事でサムネイルとして使用してはいけない画像のリストです。 [12]

Growth チームは中規模ウィキペディアで新しい寄稿者の定着に役立つよう、ソフトウェアの改良に取り組んでいます。

構造化したタスク

"Add a link" is now being tested in production and is nearing release on our four pilot wikis (Arabic, Czech, Vietnamese, and Bengali Wikipedias). We'll be doing final tests this week and next week, and then plan to deploy to the four wikis either during May 24 week, or May 31 week. After two weeks, we will analyze the initial data to identify any problems or trends. We expect that this feature will engage new kinds of newcomers in easy and successful edits. If things are going well after four weeks, we'll progressively deploy it to the wikis with Growth features.

We are currently working on a Mentor dashboard. This special page aims to help mentors be more proactive and be more successful at their role. The first iteration will include a table that shows an overview of the mentors current mentees, a module with their own settings, and a module that will allow them to store their best replies to their mentees questions.
We've conducted our quarterly audit on Growth's four pilot wikis to see the activity of mentors. It appears that the vast majority of mentors are active.

Community configuration

We are working on project to allow communities to manage the configuration of the Growth features on their own. In the past, communities have needed to work directly with the Growth team to set up and alter the features. We plan to put this capability in the hands of administrators, through an easy-to-use form, so that the features can be easily tailored to fit the needs of each community. While we developed it initially for Growth features, we think this approach could have uses in other features as well. We'll be trying this on our pilot wikis in the coming weeks, and then we'll bring it to all Growth wikis soon after. We hope you check out the project page and add any of your thoughts to the talk page.

Growth features are now available on 35 wikis. A new group of Wikipedias has been defined for the deployment of Growth features. Please contact us if you have questions about the deployment process, or if your community likes to get the features in advance.
After discussion with the English Wikipedia community, the Growth features will be tested on a small percentage of new accounts. At the moment, registered users can test the features by turning them on in their preferences.

最近の更新

これまでウィキメディア運動で利用する IRC は Freenode（フリーノード）のネットワークを使用していました。このたび、ネットワーク管理者が大幅に入れ替わりました。ウィキメディア IRC グループの連絡先は Libera チャットネットワークへの乗り換えが決定しました。すべてのチャンネルを移動させると正式に決まったわけではありませんが、ウィキメディアの IRC チャンネル群は殆どがフリーノードから撤退することになる見込みです。移設の手引きを設けているほか、ウィキメディア全体を対象とした関連議論が行われています。
