Requests for bot approval

Summary of the Bot policy

1. Respect m:Bot policy, WP:B#Additional_guidelines, and relevant policies.
2. Identify your bot on its user page using the {{bot}} template.
3. Provide following information on both the bot's user page and the approval request:
   • Details of the bot's task (or tasks)
   • Whether the bot is manually assisted or runs automatically
   • When it operates (continuously, intermittently, or at specified intervals), and at what rate
   • The language and/or program that it is running
4. Keep intervals of 10 (ten) seconds or longer between edits.
   • During the peak hours, try to refrain from running your bot, or slow it down at intervals of 20 (twenty) seconds or longer.
5. Unflagged bots shall not edit many pages at high speed.
   • Edit at intervals of one minute or longer when editing 200 or more pages without bot status.
6. When requesting for approval of your bot, demonstrate a test run of 40 to 200 edits.
   • If the task is maintaining interlanguage links or fixing double-redirects, you may start a test run without prior consensus.
   • If local users found no problem, a bureaucrat may grant bot status to your bot.
7. List your bot in Wikipedia:Bot.

• コメント/Comment:リンク規正Botとして、記事名やカテゴリ名の変更などに伴うリンク修正を目的としています。約半年に亘り、散発的な試運用を行いましたが、特に誤作動など無く正確に動作したのを確認しました。必要時のみに動作させる形態であるため、サーバへの負荷は少ないと思われます。また手動制御のため、速度調整や緊急停止などが容易であり、万一誤作動した場合でも迅速な運用中止が可能です。そのため、安定性・安全性が高いと思われます。ご検討を願います。--蟻蜂蚣

（追記）： リンク規正Botと言いましたが、厳密にはリダイレクト解消、及びリンク規正、表記振れ校正Botというべきでした。というのも、記事名の改名を行うと、リダイレクト自体の解消に加えて、副次的に本文中の「表記振れ」や「よくある誤記」などの訂正を行うべき場合が発生するためです…（例：4号戦車→IV号戦車、レオパルド2→レオパルト2、など）。このような用途に使う場合は、「表記を統一しても問題ない」と合意が得られた場合にのみ行うこととし、問題の起きそうな大幅な置換（例：チョモランマ→エベレスト、釣魚島→尖閣諸島、…など）は行わないつもりです。--蟻蜂蚣 2011年1月29日 (土) 04:03 (UTC)

賛成 / Support 運用開始直後はいろいろとあったようですが、現在ではそのような問題はないでしょう。間隔を10s - 120sとだいぶ広くとっておられますし、編集が多い時間帯は速度を落とすなどの臨機応変な処置を期待できるのではないかと思います。ただ、日本語の表記揺れのようなものに関してもリンク置換を行っていることが少し気になります。将来の状況によっては逆のことが必要になる可能性が大きいと思われる場合などありますし、Botは非常に強力なツールで、フラグ付きとなると結構気づかれません。そこのあたり考慮していただき、できるだけ慎重に運用していただければ幸いです。--赤の旋律/akasen(talk) 2011年1月24日 (月) 16:54 (UTC)
