Masahiro NAKATSUGAWA (February 9, 1972) is a Japanese author, amulet researcher, and business manager.


Born in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Father of two children.

As a writer, he deals with amulets. Established a non-profit organization to promote cultural exchange and broaden horizons under the theme "Culture is the catalyst of economy.[1]

As a junior and senior high school student, she became interested in French under the influence of her principal, who was from a French-speaking country in Canada, and studied French while studying abroad in the United States. As a result of the popularity of a French pop music presentation he gave during French class, upon his return to Japan, he began to promote French culture on the Internet with the cooperation of the French Embassy in Canada and the Cultural Affairs Department of the French Embassy in Japan.[2]

His collection of amulets from all 47 prefectures in Japan and his extensive knowledge of shrines and temples have led to appearances on TV and radio, as well as in numerous magazines and web media. In particular, he became known as a "good-luck charm researcher" after his appearance on TBS's "Matsuko's Unknown World.[3]

He recruited volunteers to write articles and form an organization, later establishing the non-profit organization AntenneFrance.[5]

Although several publishers had approached him with plans to publish a book on shrines from a fellow Paris Blanche editor, he decided to publish a book on amulets from Tokuma Shoten based on an article he had contributed to the newsletter of the Society for the Study of Modern Shrines and Practices on award items and his collection of several hundred amulets.

His collection of amulets from all 47 prefectures in Japan and his extensive knowledge of shrines and temples have led to appearances on TV and radio, as well as in numerous magazines and web media. In particular, he became known as a "good-luck charm researcher" after his appearance on TBS's "Matsuko's Unknown World.[8]

He has served as PTA president of his child's elementary school, started a coder dojo at the elementary school with neighboring PTA presidents, and organized an online educational event "Don't Stop Learning! By Volunteer PTA Coalition" with PTA presidents from other schools during the Corona school holidays.
