Tokyo Metropolitan Senior High School of the Arts is a metropolitan high school located in Tomihisa, Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo, Japan.
Summary
[編集]It was opened in April 2010 as the only Tokyo Metropolitan High School to establish a full-time arts course (credit-based system). The school has 3 departments, Faculty of art , Faculty of theatre performance (This is the first theatre performance course at a public high school in Tokyo), Faculty of music, and has 4 classes per year. Its abbreviated names include Sogei and Geikou.
The school does not have explicit school rules, leaving most of the discipline up to the students' common sense. There is no chime system except for the days when there are regular examinations, examinations and entrance examinations. Saturday study days are set regularly, and school facilities such as practice rooms are open to students for production and practice.

Unique activities
[編集]Faculty of art:
[編集]A graduation work exhibition is held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum.
- In the first semester he stayed at Nikko National Park (Katashina-mura, Tone-gun, Gunma) for 4 days and 3 nights as a sketching training camp.
- During the school festival period, a competition exhibition is held in which only the selected works are exhibited after internal school audition.
- Volunteer exhibitions organized by volunteer students are regularly held in the exhibition hall of the school.
Faculty of theatre performance:
[編集]- Regular performances are held at the Tokyo Arts Theater.
- Results recital are held regularly in the hall.
- As a compilation of contemporary dance course learning, students of contemporary dance course participated in the All Japan Dance Festival in Kobe on August every year.
Music Department:
[編集]- Salon concerts are held 3 times a year in the Western-style building of the former residence Maeda family.
- Concerts and recitals are held regularly in the hall.

[編集]The lyrics were written by the school song establishment project team, and the music was composed by Yukie Nishimura.
Uniforms
[編集]Former Tokyo Metropolitan Arts High School does not have a uniform. However, the uniform was made when Tokyo Metropolitan Arts Senior High School is established.
It is not mandatory to wear regular days only ceremony or event. The design is the general "school uniform" of the blazer type.
