History

[編集]

March 2014:Hiroshima University was selected as one of 22 research universities as one of the 22 institutions in the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's 2013 "the program for promoting the enhancement of research universities".

Chirality Research Center” was selected as an incubation centre (phase 1) with the aim of further strengthening its international development and dissemination capabilities as a world-class research university.

13 May 2015: the "Consortium for Advanced Materials Based on Spin Chirality", a group of researchers led by the Chiral Properties Research Centre at Hiroshima University, has been selected as a JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science) Core-to-Core Program : (1) Advanced Research Networks in 2015. 149 researchers from six countries, including Japan, the UK and Russia, are collaborating to promote research worldwide, from the control of chiral magnetic structures and the establishment of synthesis methods to applications. The aim is to develop innovative new materials and also to foster young researchers who will lead the next generation.

26 Jun 2016: the ”Chirality Research Center” have promoted to “Center of Excellence” from “Promising Research Initiative (incubation research center) “, and on that occasion the name of the center was changed to the “Chirality Research Center (CResCent)“.

13 October 2022: Based on the results of the Chirality Research Centre (CResCent), Hiroshima University's 'International Institute for Sustainability with Knotted Chiral Meta Matter (SKCM²)' was selected for the 2022 World Premier International Research Center Initiative (WPI) by JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science).
