[編集]Hi, Oliver. I'm a little tired with ♙, feeling we might be unable to use VE without ♙ in languages with two-byte characters. If I were a new comer, I would have stopped using VE (therefore stopped editing Wikipedia for ever) on the second or third time I stumbled onto ♙. Don't you have a plan to make a lighter VE - such as "VisualEditor lite" for langs with two-byte characters? Less features with less bugs is definitely better for new comers to use than More features with more bugs. Thanks.--miya（会話） 2013年8月16日 (金) 04:14 (UTC)
- I think there are plans to do that for Flow (the new talkpages version) but I do not know when that will be out, and it won't apply to content pages. I'm also not sure if it would solve for the multi-byte issue. I agree - fewer bugs would be good - and at the moment the problem of pawns and other artefacts is probably the highest-priority area for the developers. The only reason for the slow-down recently is that the team was at Wikimania for a week.
- In terms of multi-byte characters; yeah, this is difficult :(. It is another, very high-priority area for the team, and I know they're aware of the serious issues around it - if they weren't, they would have released it to all the projects with primarily multi-byte characters.
