Welcome
[編集]Hello, Hei ber, welcome to Japanese Wikipedia. If you have any comments or questions, you can leave a message in Wikipedia:Chatsubo for non-japanese-speakers.
Today I'm very surprized to find you are one of CUs in ja Wikipedia. May I ask you how and why you are CU here? And more over I hope to know who you will ask to translate Japanese text into en or de when you want to read a text written in Japanese. Thank you.--miya 2008年5月14日 (水) 15:45 (UTC)
- Hello Miya, thank you for your Welcome message. It's good to know that you offer an English service here.
- I have the check-user acess as member of the m:Ombudsman commission. It is our duty to deal with complaints concerning the m:privacy policy which deals with data protection and the proper use of the Checkuser function. I received the checkuser access only for being able to read the checkuser log. I have this acess for the wikis with the most checkusers performed.
- I do not use my checkuser privilege to perform any check myself.
- To answer your last question: My knowledge of Kanji is somewhat limited, to get an idea, what is going on, I use translate.google.com which sometimes gives a coarse translation from Japanese to English. Otherwise I would have to ask other persons, who know the Japanese language better than me as long as non confidential information is concerned.
- I hope that this answers you question. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you should need any more information. Best regards --Hei ber 2008年5月14日 (水) 20:12 (UTC)
- Hi, Hei ber. Thank you for your frank and clear answer! When you might need a help, I would recommend you of Tomos, Electric goat or Kanjy as a sysop who can communicate in English well (at least better than I!). Cheers! --miya 2008年5月16日 (金) 01:08 (UTC)
