レーザー科学は量子エレクトロニクスとレーザー発生光共振器の設計によって構成され、レーザー活性層での反転分布の物理によってもたらされ、非線形光学、量子光学の分野にも跨る。

Laser science is principally concerned with quantum electronics, laser construction, optical cavity design, the physics of producing a population inversion in laser media, and the temporal evolution of the light field in the laser.

この文章は、英語版を訳されたのかと思うが、途中入っている「設計」が少し不自然である。designを訳そうとしたのだと思うが、後半の文章を受ける動詞としないと、後半のカンマ以降が何にかかる名刺なのかわからなくなる。

つまり関係代名詞を補強すると

Laser science is principally concerned with quantum electronics, laser construction, optical cavity that design, the physics of producing a population inversion in laser media, and the temporal evolution of the light field in the laser.
