Summary of the Bot policy

1. Respect m:Bot policy and relevant policies.
2. Identify your bot on its user page using the {{bot}} template.
3. Provide following information on both the bot's user page and the approval request:
   • Details of the bot's task (or tasks)
   • Whether the bot is manually assisted or runs automatically
   • When it operates (continuously, intermittently, or at specified intervals), and at what rate
   • The language and/or program that it is running
4. Keep intervals of 10 (ten) seconds or longer between edits.
   • During the peak hours, try to refrain from running your bot, or slow it down at intervals of 20 (twenty) seconds or longer.
5. Unflagged bots shall not edit many pages at high speed.
   • Edit at intervals of one minute or longer when editing 200 or more pages without bot status.
6. When requesting for approval of your bot, demonstrate a test run of 40 to 200 edits.
   • If the task is maintaining interlanguage links or fixing double-redirects, you may start a test run without prior consensus.
   • If local users found no problem, a bureaucrat may grant bot status to your bot.
7. List your bot in Wikipedia:Bot.

    • It seems to be just a typo. The correct bot account is Kal-El-Bot, not Kal-El-Not. セクションのタイトルにあるリンクが間違っているだけのようです。正しいボットアカウントは 利用者:Kal-El-Bot（会話 / 投稿記録 / 記録） であり、Kal-El-Not ではありません。--Ariesmarine 2009年2月7日 (土) 08:04 (UTC)

  • Thank you for pointing me the instructions. I thought that the intervals that I had already outlined were pretty decent (aboot 2-4 edits a minute), and I am currently in the procress of making the test edits, so I don't really know why you actually pointed me out the instructions when I am already following them.   • Please keep intervals of 10 (ten) seconds or longer between edits here at jawiki. At other wikis I found your bot often runs faster than 6 edits a minute, moreover sometimes more than 12 edits within a minute. --Kanjy 2009年1月4日 (日) 16:39 (UTC)
    • I have noticed this as well, and I should have already slowed it down to edit a minimum of 3-5 edits per minute, which should fit your instructions, however, if it is making more than that, I will slow it down even more. • You made another 30 test edits at a moderate speed (i.e. the intervals between edits were long enough), while I am afraid I cannot tell with confidence that your bot is running at English Wikipedia with full respect for the speed guideline of en:Wikipedia:Bot policy#Bot requirements, at this moment. So I am sorry I am hesitating to trust your speed control, right now.   • I have the maxlag currently set at 5 seconds, so it automatically defers edits to other more important users during peak times for 5 seconds. I try to keep the intervals long enough to make sure that they conform to the policies on all of the Wikipedias that it edits. Hope this helps :) Darkicebot 2009年1月24日 (土) 22:13 (UTC)
• （コメント）Kanjyさんの上記コメント以降のグローバル活動を拝見しました。一分あたりの編集回数は適正です。間隔についてはほぼ適正でしたが、en, it, pl, pt 版で一回ずつ 8 sec 間隔になってしまっている編集が見つかりました。日本語版では適正な間隔で8編集がなされています。十全とはいきませんが、改善はしているようです。--Su-no-G 2009年1月24日 (土) 23:57 (UTC)

    • Su-no-G said — I checked its global activity after Kanjy's last comment above. Its speed (edits per minute) is considered totally moderate, except it occasionally made intervals of 8 seconds, in fact, only once each at en, it, pl, and pt. Here at ja, it made 8 edits at completely moderate speed. It got surely better, even though it might be imperfect a little. — And then I, Kanjy, considered that it became good enough. YukkeBot及びYukkeBot2のフラグ返還

返還場所がないのでこちらで。 今回問題のあると思われるような行動を起こしましたのでフラグを返還させていただきます。ユースホステルの件から気をつけて運用していたのですが、その結果が今回ですのでフラグを持つ資格はないと思いました。フラグを付与していただいたBellcricketさん含め、Triglavさん、Kanjyさんに恥をかかせ申し訳なく思います。すいませんでした。--Yukke123 2009年1月30日 (金) 09:00 (UTC)

• みなさま、コメントありがとうございます。個人的にWikipediaに貢献したいという思いもあるので出来ればBotでの作業をお手伝いしたいとは考えています。今回のYukkeBot2で問題になった件では疑いもなく行っていました（詳細は私のノート）。ユースホステルの件以降の運用で問題があったのは今回だけでしょうか。大量リクエストする際にはWP:BOTREQなどにおいて確認する作業を自分に課すだけで正常な運用ができるのであればまたBotでの作業を通じてお手伝いさせていただけたらと思います。もちろん今回の件でより慎重にはなりますが…。--Yukke123 2009年2月14日 (土) 00:35 (UTC)
