解説	English: General w:Douglas MacArthur, his wife Jean and their son Arthur at Terowie railway station, South Australia on 20 March 1942. Exhausted by their perilous, week-long escape from the Philippines, with almost no possessions, they had travelled by a primitive narrow-gauge train from the centre of Australia to this station and were about to change to a comfortable VIP carriage on the broad-gauge line to Adelaide then to Melbourne. (The photo shows changes of the type undertaken by newspapers to improve images for printing. In this photo, such changes made to the area below MacArthur's belt were extremely crude: the pockets were unequally re-drawn and the overlapping left and right sides of the tunic were blended.)
