English: The Elgin railway stations on the 1923 OS map. The Morayshire Railway opened the line heading north to Lossiemouth in 1852. The horizontal west-east line opened, with a second station, by the Inverness & Aberdeen Junction Railway in 1858. The Morayshire Railway opened the line heading south to Rothes in 1862. The other line the east was built by the Great North of Scotland Railway after they had absorbed the Morayshire.
