Detailed description:

• Star represents a ligand which passes through cell membrane and binds to AhR complex in the cytosol. The complex includes AhR and a dimer of heat-shock protein 90 (white) and XAP (black).
• Once the ligand is bound, AhR moves to the nucleus where it dimerizes with Arnt. Other proteins of AhR complex are removed and the dimer binds to DNA. Forming the dimer is a reversible process.
• In the nucleus, AhR is ubiquitinated and eventually transferred back to cytosol where it's protelyzed by 26S proteasome.
