Right whale breach relatively frequently. As seems frequently to be the case, the whale had last surfaced off the stern of the 85 foot whale-watching boat. A fe minutes later it began breaching about 200 meters in front of the bow, setting off a stampede among the several naturalists, myself included, that nearly trampled the other passengers. The whale breached four (?) times, but it was not until the last breach that I had made it to the bow to get this poor shot.
Attribution information, such as the author's name, e-mail, website, or signature, that was once visible in the image itself has been moved into the image metadata and/or image description page.
